While it’s not uncommon for women to experience pain or bleeding during the early stages of their pregnancy, it’s important to quickly rule out an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage or any other underlying condition that could be impacting you or your baby’s health.
Pain and bleeding during pregnancy can be a very distressing experience. That’s why at Newcastle Ultrasound we offer a unique urgent access early pregnancy scanning service.

Following your scan, a review of your results with a highly qualified and experienced specialist gynaecologist and ultrasonologist occurs straight away.
You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and raise any concerns you may have. You leave our clinic with a report of your scan results and an in-depth review, as well as, where necessary, a management plan or referral for further testing or treatment.

Management of Miscarriages
We understand just how distressing a miscarriage can be. Our highly trained team is here to support you during this time. We have purposely designed our space to provide our patients with a confidential, safe and quiet environment. As specialist obstetricians and gynaecologists we are able to advise you on hormonal pregnancy support if it is required, as well as talk you through any medical or surgical treatment options if they are needed.

Anti-d for future pregnancies
Since we are a specialist obstetric clinic, we are able to provide anti-D at the time of your consultation if you have an Rh negative blood group. Anti-D is administered to ensure future pregnancies are not at risk for women who are Rh negative.
