Stress and anxiety can impact on your ability to fall pregnant. All too often a diagnosis can be delayed as typically testing and investigations for infertility can drag on for months across multiple locations.

That’s why it’s essential that you receive accurate screening and diagnosis to ensure you are not wasting your time and money with ineffective treatments.

At Newcastle Ultrasound we are a one-stop, multidisciplinary infertility diagnosis and management centre. We have invested in the latest advanced infertility scanning technology that allows us to specifically investigate details that might otherwise be missed.

With over 30 years of experience in diagnosing and treating infertility, we regularly update our knowledge and expertise via advanced training on the latest advancements in women’s health and fertility. In fact, Dr Steve Raymond and Newcastle Ultrasound are commonly called upon by medical practitioners to assist with the diagnosis and assessment of the most complex infertility cases.

PCOS, endometriosis, blocked tubes can often be the underlying causes of infertility

What we often see is that very common conditions such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), blocked tubes or other uterine abnormalities are often the underlying causes of infertility.

Before embarking on costly infertility or IVF treatment, it is imperative to rule out these common causes of infertility and seek treatment and management for them. Tailoring an effective treatment plan will save you time, money and unnecessary anxiety.

The great news is that most infertility issues can be overcome with specialised fertility scanning and expert advice.

Dr Steve Raymond and the team at Newcastle Ultrasound can effectively assess for the presence of endometriosis (a common condition that can cause infertility) and offer treatment via keyhole surgery, an advanced diagnostics and treatment tool. Read more about keyhole surgery

Your results will be explained to you after the examination by a specialist gynaecologist and fertility expert.

When it comes to fertility, we pride ourselves on being able to offer all of our patients the ability to undergo their scan and have the results explained by a fertility specialist.

Minimally Invasive Approach

Our specialised infertility scanning and screening technology and clinical approach is minimally invasive.

In most cases we perform what we call a ‘transvaginal procedure’. We insert a special ultrasound probe into your vagina for the examination. The procedure usually takes no longer than 15-20 minutes. The procedure is performed by a female sonographer who is experienced at infertility scans. You’ll find this examination less uncomfortable than a Pap smear test.

Also, keep in mind that male causes of infertility affect up to 40% of couples that experience difficulty in falling pregnant. We offer specialist testicular scans and sperm testing to check for possible causes of male infertility.
